Problem:
America First Legal (AFL) petitioned Attorney General Merrick Garland and the Department of Justice to comply with the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) and require Students for Justice in Palestine, American Muslims for Palestine, Osama Abuirshaid, Hatem Bazian, and Westchester People’s Action Coalition (WESPAC) Foundation to register as foreign agents. The Department of Justice (DOJ) must require registration or waive rulemaking when they become aware of these actors and their affiliations. However, Attorney General Merrick Garland and the DOJ have ignored AFL’s letter, thus demonstrating that the Biden-Harris Administration has unlawfully failed to enforce the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) against those acting on behalf of Hamas.
