Law Clerk Program – Summer 2025
America First Legal (AFL) is seeking highly motivated and mission-aligned second and third-year law students to join our Summer 2025 Law Clerk Program. This position will provide the unique and exciting opportunity to work on a variety of projects in AFL’s litigation and oversight portfolios. Clerks will be given the opportunity to work on cases at the center of today’s most pressing public policy debates. They will also play a key role in AFL’s oversight efforts, gaining valuable experience in using various oversight tools to influence and shape national discussions. Clerks will also have the opportunity to connect with prominent attorneys and policymakers within the conservative movement who are dedicated to defending constitutional principles and America-first values.
Clerks will be expected to conduct legal research, draft, proof, and cite-check the material that AFL produces, including letters, memos, complaints, motions, and briefs (administrative, trial, and appellate). Clerks will also assist with AFL’s oversight portfolio including conducting document review, drafting FOIA requests, OIG demand letters, and Hill letters, and generally assist in other duties to further AFL’s mission.
Hours and arrangements can be made on an individualized basis. For clerks located in Washington, D.C., in-person opportunities are available, but AFL is also willing to accommodate candidates anywhere in the country with a remote clerkship. AFL expects a 25-40 hour per week commitment from all clerks and places an emphasis on high-quality work products from driven individuals seeking to gain meaningful, real-world experience in the conservative movement.
