Department of Education Failure to Respond to PPRA Complaints from Cedar Grove

Parental Rights
August 2022
FOIA Letter

Description:

America First Legal (AFL) demanded answers from the U.S. Department of Education (ED) on behalf of seven parents whose children are enrolled in the Cedar Grove School District in Cedar Grove, New Jersey, regarding the Department’s failure to respond to complaints filed under the Protection of Pupil Rights Amendment (PPRA): a federal law the Department of Education is entrusted to enforce. Their complaints, six of which have been pending for over a year, sought the Department’s investigation into the School District for administering a highly personal, invasive survey to children without lawful parental notice or consent, in violation of the PPRA.
