WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, America First Legal (AFL) launched an investigation into the Biden-Harris Administration’s apparent coverup of Islamic supremacist violence in Africa and the Middle East.
During the Obama Administration, African and Middle Eastern Christians, Yazidis, Kurds, Jews, and other religious minorities were targeted for persecution by, and atrocities at the hands of, Islamic supremacists and jihadist groups. However, the U.S. government downplayed or ignored the sectarian motivation for this violence. The Biden-Harris Administration continued the Obama Administration’s practice of ignoring or actively concealing the sectarian motivation for this violence. For example, the Biden-Harris U.S. Department of State misattributed jihadist violence in Nigeria to “climate change,” farmer-herder conflicts, and ethnic divides
To expose the truth and force accountability, AFL has filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request with the Department of State, seeking, among other things, records regarding recent attacks against African or Middle Eastern Christians, Alawites, Yazidis, Kurds, Jews, Druze, or other religious minorities by Islamic supremacist or jihadist groups in the Congo, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Kenya, Nigeria, Pakistan, Somalia, South Africa, Sudan, Yemen, or Syria.
AFL is committed to exposing the dangers posed by Islamic supremacists to Christians and other religious minorities.
