WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, as part of its ongoing probe into the partisan weaponization of the criminal justice system, America First Legal (AFL) opened a comprehensive new investigation of the Manhattan District Attorney’s abusive prosecution of President Donald J. Trump. Responding to credible allegations of improper collusion between District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office, the Biden White House and Department of Justice (DOJ), and allied leftist dark money groups, AFL has filed three new New York State Freedom of Information Law (FOIL) demands.
- The first demand is for records from Alvin Bragg, Matthew Colangelo, Joshua Steinglass, Meg Reiss, Joyce Smith, Leslie Dubeck, and Sherene Crawford of communications with the Democratic National Committee, the organization called “Color of Change,” George Soros’s “Open Society Foundations,” Julie Chavez Rodriguez, Quentin Fulks, Kevin Munoz, The Biden-Harris Campaign, Loren Merchan and her company Authentic Campaign(s), the New York Office of the Attorney General, DOJ, and the group called “Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington.”
- The second demand is for records from Bragg, Colangelo, Steinglass, Reiss, Smith, Dubeck, and Crawford of all communications containing the term “Merchan.”
- The third demand is for all Bragg, Colangelo, and Steinglass calendars.
AFL expects that these critical records will begin to shed light on the New York County District Attorney’s abusive and partisan prosecution of President Trump, the highly irregular conduct of the presiding judge, and the relationship between the prosecutors and outside groups. The public has a right to know the identity of each and every person who has played a role in the show trial persecution of President Trump, the perversion of the New York County District Attorney’s office, and the radical left’s effort to interfere in the 2024 Presidential Election. AFL will keep fighting to expose the truth and protect the rule of law.
