Problem:
AFL's client, Michael Kascsak, is an experienced senior corporate executive specializing in talent acquisition and human resources. Mr. Kascsak alleges that after he completed the interview process at Expedia, the company orally offered him a job and informed him that he was the top pick. However, Expedia changed its mind. After months of delay, Expedia reopened the job search and interviewed more candidates. Mr. Kascsak flew to New York to complete another interview. Mr. Kascsak alleges the reason for the delay in his hiring and the consideration of new candidates was because Expedia's Chief People, Inclusion, and Diversity Officer, Michael Davis Velasco, decided Expedia wanted to hire a "diverse candidate." As a white man, Mr. Kascak was clearly not "diverse" enough for Expedia. Ultimately, after months of being left waiting in limbo following the initial oral offer, Mr. Kascsak was denied employment by Expedia.
Action:
AFL partnered with attorney Alex Liebmann and law firm Cooper & Kirk in this suit against Expedia, Inc., alleging race and sex discrimination under Section 1981, Title VII, and the Texas Labor Code.
