“The Homeland Intelligence Experts Group convened by the Department of Homeland Security, disbanded under a settlement with America First Legal, referred to a Biden White House ‘classified implementation plan’ to accompany it’s public National Strategy for Countering Domestic Terrorism, according to internal meeting notes obtained by AFL under the settlement.”

“The Biden administration has agreed to wind down a controversial intelligence ‘experts’ group as it faced a lawsuit from a conservative legal nonprofit arguing that it was in violation of federal law. The Homeland Intelligence Experts Group was announced by DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas in September. The group was a collection of figures from the private sector to provide perspectives on the government’s intelligence and national security efforts…America First Legal, which fired the lawsuit, found that all of the political contributions of those named to the group, just 1% went to Republicans, while 98% went to Democrats.”

“With polling consistently suggesting most Americans fear for the future of democracy depending on the winner of the 2024 presidential election, and that democracy tops concerns for single-issue voters, internal meeting notes from a Department of Homeland Security panel suggest the Biden administration fears the wrong kind of democracy.”

“America First Legal, founded by former Trump White House adviser Stephen Miller, is dribbling out redacted ‘#DeepStateDiaries’ handed over by DHS to resolve AFL’s litigation alleging that last year’s creation of the Homeland Intelligence Experts Group, also disbanded under the settlement, violated the Federal Advisory Committee Act because of its heavy partisan tilt.”

“Republican lawmakers sent a letter Tuesday to Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas demanding information on an intelligence advisory board, arguing the panel is at risk of political bias…The DHS announced the creation of the Homeland Intelligence Advisory Board in a May press release, stating that the board will “seek to include” all the members of the Experts Group.”

“The Experts Group was shuttered in response to a lawsuit filed by America First Legal (AFL), who also obtained documents revealing the group characterized supporting Trump, being religious and being a veteran were “indicators of extremists and terrorism.”

“The Biden administration’s since-disbanded ‘Homeland Intelligence Experts Group’ planned an insidious influence operation to persuade mothers and teachers to inform on dissident parents and students suspected of “domestic extremism,” internal documents obtained by The Post show.”

“But conservative non-profit America First Legal (AFL) alleged in a November 2023 lawsuit that the group was stacked with Democrat partisans and violated the Federal Advisory Committee Act because of its ‘lack of balance, the Biden Administration’s inappropriate influence over it, and its lack of public notice and participation.'”
