AFL Files Groundbreaking Class-Action Lawsuit Against Amazon for Illegal Racial Discrimination, Egregious Violations of Civil Rights

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, America First Legal (AFL), through its Center for Legal Equality, filed a federal class-action lawsuit against Amazon for its patently unlawful racial discrimination.

Under the guise of “diversity,” Amazon is offering a $10,000 bonus to its delivery service partners — but only for those partners who are black, Latino, or Native American. Asian-Americans and whites are categorically ineligible for this racially discriminatory stipend. This is a flagrant violation of the Civil Rights Act of 1866, which guarantees to citizens of every race and color the same right to make and enter into contracts with others. 

Amazon also operates a “Black Business Accelerator” program that gives money and racially discriminatory preferences to black-owned businesses that sell products through Amazon, including a “$500 credit to assist with start-up and operational costs for eligible newly launched sellers,” and “advertising credits to increase exposure.” Businesses owned by members of any other race are categorically ineligible for these benefits. 


AFL has proven its commitment to stamping out illegal discrimination. To date, we have challenged woke ideology and illegal discrimination in corporate America, the federal government, and local public school systems. More lawsuits will be coming against woke corporations that violate federal civil rights laws in the name of “diversity, equity, and inclusion.”

All American citizens are harmed when companies illegally discriminate based on race, color, national origin, religion, or sex. Companies should be focusing on the quality of their products and services, seeking new ways to innovate and expand, and maximizing shareholder wealth, not on imposing an illegal and immoral equity agenda on their employees and customers.

Jeff Bezos is one the wealthiest men on the planet. But instead of using that vast wealth to protect the essential rights and freedoms of his fellow citizens, the company that made Bezos his vast fortune is engaged in an elaborate — and flagrantly illegal — scheme to violate the core civil rights of the American People. This includes providing exclusive and lucrative business partnerships, cash bonuses, and professional opportunities based solely on skin color.

Amazon planned, orchestrated, and implemented its explicit system of racial preferences and exclusions that tears at the very fabric of our civilization, for ours is a nation built on the precipice of equal rights, equal justice and full equality under the law. But Amazon has decided it is exempt from these legal and moral mandates: they are grievously mistaken. AFL will do all it can to ensure Amazon is judged harshly by our courts and our history books for the brazen and invidious racial discrimination they have so callously plotted, engineered, and executed. America First Legal will not yield in the righteous crusade for justice,” Stephen Miller said.
